Is the Passover the Seal of God?

In this post I would like to comment on the ignorance of Anti Church of God blogs when it comes to biblical prophesy. In a blog, the writer makes a statement that is a bit disturbing and ignorant. and I quote:

“So Jesus kept the Passover but He was not protected from crucifixion…”

This statement shows their lack of understanding when it comes to the Passover. According to the Old Testament the Passover had to be celebrated by slaughtering a lamb.

Exodus 12:3-6 — Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household… Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

Here according to the Bible the Passover Lamb had to be sacrificed in order for the Passover to take effect. without the lamb being sacrificed the Passover has no effect. Apostle Paul explained the meaning of this in his first letter to the Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 — Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast — as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the festival…

Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb, if He is not sacrificed that Passover will not take effect.

Hebrews 9:15-17 — For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance — now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. In the case of a will(covenant), it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living.

for this reason Jesus Christ laid out His will on the night of the Passover; He established the new covenant. He knew the next day He was going to be crucified, for this reason the night before he made his will(covenant), so that it would take effect the next day after his crucifixion.

Luke 22:13-20 — They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer… And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

This is basic understanding of Gods covenant, that Christ had to be sacrificed as the Passover lamb, then to say that the Passover is not the seal of God, because Christ kept it yet He was not protected is not valid at all. on my next posts i will continue analyzing the erroneous statements made by anti Church of God blogs about the World Mission Society Church of God
